Welcome to Laxmi Sakhi Coming NGO—where dignity, health, and empowerment go hand in hand. This is a women-led initiative committed to ensuring that every woman and girl has access to safe, affordable, and hygienic menstrual products, alongside opportunities for employment. Through awareness, education, and the distribution of sanitary napkins, our goal is to break down taboos and build a healthier, more confident future for all.
Join us in creating a world where menstruation never stands as a barrier to opportunity, but rather serves as a step toward strength, self-care, and women's self-reliance. Laxmi devi(Bokaro)
The National Health Mission (NHM) is a flagship initiative by the Government of India aimed at improving healthcare access, especially for underserved populations. Launched in 2013, NHM focuses on reducing maternal and infant mortality, enhancing immunization coverage, and addressing communicable and non-communicable diseases. It integrates the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) and National Urban Health Mission (NUHM), striving to provide equitable, affordable, and quality healthcare services.
The lack of affordable sanitary pads is a critical issue affecting menstrual health in India. Despite progress, only 36% of women use sanitary pads, leaving millions reliant on unsafe alternatives like cloth or rags, which increase infection risks. A significant barrier is cost—while a pack of 6 pads averages , many women, especially in rural areas, cannot afford this. The government and NGOs have initiated programs to provide subsidized or pads, yet accessibility and awareness remain challenges.
